2834 clone movement watch | ETA Caliber 2834 2834 clone movement watch #1. Hi! I have been taking daily meassurements of my newly procured rep with an asian clone 2834 movement. The watch gains 7s per day in average over a 10day period. The minimum was one day that it gained only 3s and one day it gained the maximum 9s. Could this movement be regulated so that the error "oscilates" around 0s instead of 7s?

The ETA caliber 2834-2 is a Swiss made automatic movement with a day-date complication. The calendar display on this movement is similar to the Rolex President Day-Date, with a full day of the week indicator at 12:00 and a date at 3:00 (also possible at 6:00 depending on the dial design). The 2834-2 is part of ETA’s Mecaline collection. For identification purposes note the round head on the beat adjustor arm (red arrow), the style of the regulator arm (green arrow), and the style and metal (steel) of the shock setting (blue arrow). A2824. This isn’t a clone of a Rolex movement, rather it is an Asian clone of an ETA 2824 movement. The Sellita caliber SW240-1 is a Swiss made automatic movement with a day-date complication, with a calendar layout similar to the popular Rolex Day-Date President. It is the main competitor to the ETA 2834-2 and is considered to be an ETA clone. Many high-end brands like Patek Philippe, Piaget, Rolex and Breguet can produce in-house movements that are optimized for their portfolios. A watch company is considered “complete” when it can produce its own movement, but many still rely on outsourced ones from large Swiss manufacturers like ETA and Sellita. Yet, the market has changed.
Do you know if the movement ETA 2834-2 could run without the self-winding module? Does the movement need all the screws to prevent from falling apart? Recently I bought a Hamilton Khaki King with no crystal and some dings as a project watch.

I’m looking for a reliable source of 2834-2 either decent quality clone ? Seagull or Gen - where is the best place to source ? I got one from Ali a few weeks back but it turned up with a broken day wheel and it runs for 5 min then stops.. put it .
Many companies have created copies and clones of the ETA 2824-2 as the original patent has expired, such as the Sellita SW200-1 that is interchangeable with the 2824-2. Between that and ETA’s tightening grip on selling movements to third parties, the number of watches that feature it is dwindling. I try to get my ETA's regulated between +1 and +4 seconds/day. If you have the proper tools it is not difficult to do assuming the movement is properly cleaned and lubricated. I would find +4-5 seconds per day to be perfectly fine for a movement like an ETA.
